Description
If you are interested in youth ministry, you will have an extraordinary opportunity to observe and work with
many youth workers and their groups over the course of your time with us. While facilitating groups in the city
will be your primary responsibility, you will also be exposed to a wide variety of urban ministries and
organizations. A CSM host helps to "bridge the gap" between suburban/rural people and city people. Part of the
challenge of this position involves framing each activity so that the participants understand their role which is to
serve the ministries and organizations in the city. City hosts also lead discussion/reflection sessions at the
end of each day to help the participants begin to process their experiences. As a CSM City Host you will be
challenged in your walk with Jesus Christ, you will grow in your knowledge and understanding of the city and its
people, you will learn how to work with all kinds of people in all sorts of situations and you will serve God
in a tangible way.
Requirements
For three to seven/eight months beginning around Jan/Feb in Chicago, Washington DC, Houston, LA, New York
City, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Toronto.
For three months beginning around May 20 in Chicago, Washington DC, Houston, LA, Nashville, New York City,
Philadelphia, San Francisco and Toronto.
For three to eleven months beginning around October 1in LA and possibly Chicago, Washington DC and San
Francisco.
You will host groups during their time in the city by orienting them to the city and CSM rules and guidelines;
framing each ministry site and activity; guiding them to each site and restaurant; and facilitating their
entire schedule and leading evening discussions and debriefs to help them process their experiences.
City hosts are usually assigned to a group and then are responsible to remain with group during their entire
trip (except for sleeping times). A city host is a bridge between the culture of the groups (usually suburban
and rural church youth groups) and the various cultures of the city.

Organizational Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles,
in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the
right hand of the Father and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people
regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a
godly life.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of life and the
lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
